CHARLOTTESVILLE–

It’s time for football season, people.

The Charlottesville Black Knights (0-0) just missed the top 25 in Division 4A in the Week 1 Rankings. The Black Knights (yet again) face a loaded schedule. Their roads games include (18) Powhatan and (22) Louisa. Their home schedule is also stacked, with games against rival and 7th ranked Monticello and their last home game is versus Western Albemarle, who is number three in the preseason 3A rankings.

Charlottesville, last year, came into the season injured and tired. They lost their would-be starting quarterback to an injury in a scrimmage and suffered a 4-7 record. Despite all of this, the Black Knights made it into the postseason and they have high hopes coming into this season, especially because their star running back, Rashad Brock, is healthy.

Dominion returns most of their offensive line and receivers from a strong team last year. They are ranked 20th in the 4A Rankings, a ranking that seems fair to most fans. Still, Charlottesville comes into the game poised for an upset. Seniors such as Deandre Bryant will lead this Black Knights squad, and again, Rashad Brock (who CHS coach Eric Sherry is not afraid to call one of the best running backs in the state) will rush right by the Titans defensive line, and as usual, the Charlottesville defense will be a solid force. Yes, it is very possible for the Black Knights to pull an upset in Sterling on Friday.
